This week I did a guest post on the Salesforce Community blog with Michael Farrington to talk about the Spring ’12 Release Features. It was really fun to go over how a Button-Click Admin and a Developer look over the realease notes differently. I hope you enjoy the post! You can read the post here, and be sure to check back on Monday as I give a more indepth review of the Spring ’12 release notes. In the meantime, here is me and my new BMX Blazer back in the day- rocking my Dukes of Hazzard shirt all ready for Spring of course! Thursday AM Admin: How to be a Super Salesforce Admin!

| December 8th, 2011 | 5 Comments »

Today I had the privilege of speaking at the Wisconsin User Group meeting in Milwaukee, and I want to thank ButtonClickAdmin.com Supporter and Salesforce User Group Leader Julia Napolitano for helping to organize this. If you haven’t attended a Salesforce User Group meeting (or haven’t in a while) I highly encourage you to do so, it’s really one of the best ways to connect with other Button-click Admins, Developers, and Users. The speech I gave today was “How to be a Super Salesforce Admin!”; it covers six of the best practices that Salesforce Admins can and should be doing to be a Super Admin. Below are the slides I shared with the group. I would love to get your feedback and continue the discussion about how to be a Super Salesforce Admin! Monday AM Admin: One Year Later

During this meeting our breakout discussions focused around habits, tips, and best practices to help Salesforce Admins who worked for companies and had other hats to wear for their organization. One person even remarked- “If Salesforce is so easy, I should be able to solve it with a button-click.” Immediately my wheels started turning. I wondered if there was a site that helped Admins who didn’t know how to code, but still needed to be successful. A blog was born During the three years I had been a Salesforce admin I had picked up some really great tips and habits but never formally shared them. ButtonClickAdmin was born during a conversation with Nick Westergaard about blogging. Both of us were struggling to

Monday AM Admin: The Social Network

In 2008 after an epic Admin 301 class I came in to work and was tasked with ‘fixing Salesforce’ which meant doing a soup to nuts customization of our entire org. At that time, twitter was fairly new, I used facebook to keep up with only my closest friends and the Help & Training section of Salesforce was, well to be honest, a bit less than. Over the past few years these channels have exploded- in a good way. I remember thinking to myself “I need to add a Salesforce column to tweetdeck because I’m following so many people who talk Salesforce.” What a ride the last few years have been for social media and collaboration! It’s 2011 and I have seen this question pop up a few times- “Where should I go for help with Salesforce?” And the follow up statement for those of us who are active in
