Monday AM Admin: You’re Making it Too Difficult

Take a look at whatever salesforce.com project you’re working on right now. Report, dashboard, new app, integration, campaign, etc. Whatever it is…you’re making it too complex. No seriously. I had this very conversation with myself last week. Our team has been developing a solution to notify leaders of opportunity changes and allow those leaders some degree (in certain situations) of approval. During the process of building this solution two things happened. (1) We complicated the process and (2) we discovered that our solution, while providing additional information to leaders was complicating things for our users. We delivered the required solution for our leaders and they were happy. We created something new that showed off what our team can accomplish. Monday AM Admin: 2010- A year of accomplishments

I have to say that all in all it has been a very busy year. Looking back I am still amazed at this list and had you told me at the beginning of the year I would get all this done I wouldn’t have believed you. But at the end of every year I think its important to make a list of accomplishments. Some people thrive at setting goals, checking items off their list and  marking those accomplishments. I prefer to keep a list of accomplishments as the year goes on then reflect back on it at year’s end.
