100

So here it is- post number 100. That’s 100 Mondays this blog has consistently put up a few hundred, to a few thousand words in the hopes of helping Salesforce Admins conquer the world succeed. This whole journey has been about connecting, sharing, and getting good information out there. It’s really been about you- sure my picture was on the mast head for a while. But it’s about being part of a community of people who aren’t afraid to tackle a challenge or expand their horizons. But you changed me. Yeah, when I set off to create this blog I had hoped it would evolve into something amazing. And sure enough it has- not to brag, but your comments and connections have really brought my words and thoughts to life. When I kicked off ButtonClickAdmin.com I felt like I was one man on an island trying to solve problems. I felt

Today’s post is going to start off with a reader’s email. I love getting email from my readers about post suggestions and recently this one came in from Launa Sanders- who gave me permission to repost it. Mike- I am a weekly subscriber to your post and would like to request a topic: Integration. I personally am a true #buttonclickadmin with zero developer knowledge and yet have been tasked with coordinating efforts to intergate several of our back-end systems. Perhaps it’s a metaphor for how Admins think, or maybe it’s because training could be the least sexy topic to talk about. I mean, I would much rather talk about Chatter, Cross-object workflow rules, or a host of other topics. But let’s face it, without proper training of our users all we will really be doing is chasing fires and being frustrated. So let’s talk training, but let’s look at it from a user standpoint and see how we can spice it up a bit so it’s less Ben Stein-ish and more School of Rock-ish! Below are my 5 tips to put a little zing into your training class when

Monday AM Admin: In the Summertime

I’m kicking off this post with quite possibly the best summer song ever made. You can disagree, but you need to post a link in comments to a better summer song. In the mean time, enjoy the laid back tones of Mungo Jerry before continuing on with this post. Ah, that song set’s me right every time. Alright let’s talk some Summer ’12 Salesforce release info. First, off it’s preliminary at this point. The notes that Matt Lamb has shared on twitter still have the Spring’12 logo them. (This is the version I found.) So to be fair, this won’t be an exhaustive post- I’ll give them a chance to release the “official” notes. But being a blogger, I can’t help but salivate over new stuff. So let’s see what we could be in store for- Safe Harbor of course. 1. Chatter Messanger goes GA (p.21) Finally, we have the
